After graduating from Brevard High School in Brevard North Carolina Rudy joined the US Air Force in 1969. During his 8 year career in the Air Force Rudy was stationed at Hickam AFB Hawaii and then at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas Nevada in a combat ready civil engineering squadron 'Red Horse'.

To pursue his personal goals Rudy left the U.S. Air Force at the rank of Staff Sergeant and returned to school earning an Associate of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology at Mt Hood College in Troutdale Oregon (Presidents Honor Role, Who's Who in American Junior Colleges). Because of his scholastic achievements Rudy was offered jobs with several electronic companies at graduation. He decided to join Intel Corporation in Hillsboro Oregon in 1983 where he focused initially on troubleshooting processor emulator systems. Rudy has had a long career with Intel and is not currently available for consultant services.

Rudy has also spent many hours at the pottery wheel exploring clay and developing the workings of the right side of his brain. Ceramics is an interest he shares with his wife through their artist business Quail Creek Pottery & Plants. Working in stoneware and porcelain they create original items which they market online, in local shows and studio sales

Rudy also earned his Washington Real Estate License in 2003 and marketed real estate in association with Castle Realty in Olympia Washington for several years.
